This book was written 17 years after the foundation of the association in 1952. A co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous explains how members find recovery and how the association operates. This book deals with the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. The twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous include principles that are spiritual in nature and if used as a lifestyle it can repel the temptation to drink alcohol and enable the alcoholic to achieve complete happiness and satisfaction. The twelve traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous are related to the function of the association and it is a comprehensive plan through which Alcoholics Anonymous adapts its life and growth to the surrounding world while maintaining unity. Although the material written in this book is written mainly for members many friends of the Society believe that these principles can generate interest and be applied outside the Society.
