Religious theory
Religions opinion
Almost all the authorities of different religions have offered their prayers to Alcoholics
Anonymous.
Edward Dowling
Spiritual father Edward Dowling says: "Alcoholics Anonymous is a natural phenomenon, but it is
at the point where nature is in closest contact with metaphysics, the point where humiliation
becomes humility." There is a spiritual mood in art museums or symphony concerts, and the
Catholic Church approves its use. In the case of Alcoholics Anonymous, there is also this
spiritual state, and the participation of Catholics in it often, without exception, causes weak
Catholics to become better Catholics.
Episcopal magazine
Episcopal magazine writes: "The basis of the method of Alcoholics Anonymous is the true
principle of humanity. Man cannot help himself unless he helps others. The Alcoholics Anonymous
program is called self-insurance by its members. This self-insurance has caused them to be
restored in terms of physical, intellectual and spiritual health, and hundreds of men and women,
who had no hope for this unique and effective treatment method, regain their
self-esteem."
Dr. Harry Emerson
At a dinner party given by one of our friends to introduce Alcoholics Anonymous to his friends,
Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdyk stated: "I think there is an advantage in the method of this population
from a psychological point of view that cannot be paralleled. I imagine that if this phenomenon
is treated wisely, which seems to be the case, the future possibilities of this project are
beyond our imaginations.
